Grade 7 - Mrs. Anna Maria Connolly

Welcome to Junior High
In junior high the choices you make have a lasting effect on your future. Next year, when you apply to high school, a copy of your junior high transcript will accompany your application. A transcript is your academic record for seventh and eighth grade. So, make the most of the next two years by doing assignments completely (yes, studying is an assignment!) and developing all of your talents such as athletics, music or art.
Homework
All homework assignments should be copied clearly and correctly into the student daily planner. The dates for tests, quizes and long term assignments should be recorded as soon as notification is given.

Grading
Each teacher will inform the students of the grading system and requirements for their respective subject areas.

Progress Reports
Progress Reports will be sent home approximately every two weeks. They should be signed and returned to the homeroom teacher within two days. Reports will include graded papers and notification concerning effort, conduct, and failing grades. Failure warnings are attached to midterm progress reports.

Demerit/Detention Systems
The purpose of this system is to reinforce the importance of appropriate classroom behavior and responsible study habits. Detentions for five accumulated demerits are served on Thursdays. Demerits are accumulated from week to week and are recorded in the students' homeroom where the totals are available for review by the student.

Merit Awards
All students who have less than eight demerits per term will qualify for the quarterly Merit Celebration.
