Art Heists Solved!

Mrs. Cusson recently had grades 6, 7 and 8 working on solving cases of famous art heists.

Each class discussed some famous art heists throughout history and the valuable paintings that were stolen. Then each class got a “case” to solve, with each student receiving a “clue” on a small piece of the painting that they had to enlarge on a larger square.

The challenge was to enlarge their piece or “clue” in the correct proportions and match the colors the best they could so that the squares all line up and match.

Students had to make a 2 inch grid on their square and a ¼ inch grid on their clue, then use the grids to enlarge everything. Then all of the square paintings came together to solve the case.
